The Kea is an endemic parrot species of New Zealand. Some say Kea's are naughty, others say they are simply intelligent and curious; either way they are known as the 'clown of the mountains' as they rifle through people's unattended possessions and mischievously cause damage to cars.
Each Songbird Earring is skilfully hand-shaped from clay, fired, then hand-painted by our team of creative artisans. Because of their handmade nature no two birds are the same, making them even more unique and characterful.
